CURIOSITY
The elaboration of the Martini livery on the Delta S4 was particularly elaborate and went hand in hand with the numerous changes of the car.
The Martini livery began to be developed at Pubbli Auto, the definitive livery with which the Lancia Delta S4 ran the world championships was completed and performed for the first time on the car by Pubbli Mais at our historic headquarters in Turin. In Abarth the livery was further improved by extending it almost to the front lights.
ORIGINALLY
The Martini livery was done in paint on the hood, roof and sides. This decoration also covered the car's irregular and protruding grilles and details down to the smallest detail. Everything else, including the large Lancia Martini lettering on the spoiler, the Lancia, Martini, Sportline logos, the sun visors and the technical sponsors were adhesive decals.

IN PAINT
The graphics of the Martini livery will be entirely made in paint like the original - with only the sponsors made in adhesive - with the same colors and painting methods of the reference period, which give an additional value of authenticity to the car.
The tracing of the Martini strips will not be made with computerized masks but through a manual processing process, tracing by hand with the tapes all the graphic elements for an aesthetic result that is not artificial and not replicable but with an artisanal flavor: each graphic reproduction will be unique. The final result of the painted surfaces will also take into account the historical period therefore modern super glossy finishes will not be used if not present at the time.
The stickers of the Lancia, Martini, Sportline logos, the writings and all the technical sponsors will be made of the highest quality Cast adhesive - with protective plasticization against atmospheric agents and abrasions - to faithfully replicate the sizes and colors of the originals with the possibility of run them in "vintage" mode for an effect that recalls the screen printing and the historical stickers. The stickers of the Martini logos are particularly valuable, executed in the original dimensions and colors and with mirror gold that does not fade, made with a screen printing process as at the time but with a very high resistance, smooth to the touch (without steps between the colors) and free from overlapping colors (abundances).
This creation is particularly suitable for the graphic makeover and restoration of former official and original cars of the time, destined for shows and exhibitions at prestigious car showrooms and fairs.
This process is the most valuable and among other things gives the car a sort of "license" of authenticity as it is performed by the same hands and by the same company that made the historical graphics at the time.

All the graphics will be done completely in adhesive, both as regards the technical sponsors and the Martini livery, creating an accurate replica of the version in paint. For the Martini adhesive livery, conformable Cast adhesive vinyls of the highest quality are used, applied with hot method for a very long duration, which also allow application on all rounded and curved parts of the car body, on grilles and air intakes. If the car is sold, the adhesive graphics can be completely removed without affecting the original paint of the car body. Where necessary, we also carry out the protection of the adhesive graphics with transparent protective varnish for a varnish-like effect.
This process is particularly suitable for non-original replicas that participate in revivals and historical rally competitions, or in classic car rallies organized by clubs, or for simple enthusiasts.

A BIT OF HISTORY ...
The Lancia Delta S4 Gr. B was designed by Claudio Lombardi to replace the Lancia 037 in Rally racing, without all-wheel drive and therefore no longer competitive against the Peugeot 205 and other rivals of the time. In 1986 the S4 won the Drivers' world title with Markku Alén but 11 days after the world championship conquest the FIA canceled with a very questionable decision the result of the Sanremo Rally and the title passed mathematically to Peugeot. Even without being able to claim the title, the experience of the S4 was fundamental for the creation of the Lancia Delta Integrale which would have won the world championship 6 times.
